슬픈 Paradise

Doesn’t have to be, but it’s originally a continuation of this songfic.

“I can’t make it today. I’m so sorry.” Her friend said apologetically. “It’s fine. I’ll just entertain myself.” She said before hanging up. She sighed to herself as she sat in the cafe, waiting for nobody in particular. She set aside her whole day for her friend that just canceled on her. When she saw a familiar figure walk inside the cafe, it was as if time stopped. The familiar figure walked swiftly inside the cafe. She froze as he looked her way. Did he see her? He sat down at a table like nothing happened. Apparently he didn’t. Could it be him? It couldn’t be. What was he doing? Didn’t he have schedules to go to? She walked slowly, calculating the distance between them. Everything else around them seemed to stopped. The closer she got, her confidence grew. That slouch, the way that he drummed his fingers absentmindedly, it had to be him. “How have you been?” She asked him carefully.

“How have you been?” He heard her voice say. Was he hearing things? After they broke up, for months, he would hear the phone ring, or hear her voice calling out to him. But they were all fake. They eventually all stopped, and he thought he was over her. Until now. He slowly turned around to see the love of his life, standing before him. After they broke up a year ago, he broke up with the girl he cheated with, and lived single. Nothing seemed worth it. No amount of alcohol, girls, or work seemed to help with the pain. It was as if she took everything in his life that mattered with her. And now here she was. The very girl that made his heart stop beating, back. His heart that always felt cold and empty seemed to be warming up as he saw her face. “I’ve been.. Good.” He said, staring at her. Was it really her? She was so beautiful, even more so than he remembered. Her style had changed just a bit. Her careful yet playful smile had his heart beating faster than ever. “Sit down, please.” He said quickly, as if she would disappear if he didn’t speak sooner.

She sat down uncertainly. Was this really happening? Just a few minutes ago, she was annoyed her friend canceled on her, and here she was, sitting with her ex-boyfriend. “Don’t you have schedules today?” She asked, while studying his face. He was even more good looking than the last time he saw her. She always watched his performances, listened to the radio whenever he was on, watched his interviews, and even bought all his albums, insisting it was to help the economy, not for him. “I have the day off today. Just decided to take a walk, and I saw the cafe. It seemed like a nice place to check out.” He said. She was listening to the voice she’s dreamed about hearing again so many times. They stared into each other’s eyes, saying more than words ever could. He missed her too. That gave her the push she needed. “Are you busy today?” She asked him. She just met him. He couldn’t just leave after seeing you again. She’s been secretly waiting for this day for too long. “No, I have nothing planned for the rest of the day.” He said quickly again. She smiled as she realized that he was nervous. “Well in that case, I’m kind of hungry. Do you want to get something to eat?” She asked him. “It’d be my pleasure.” He said, getting up and holding his hand out.

One Month Later…

He smiled stupidly as he listened to her story about her day. “Can you believe it?” She said, laughing. He laughed along, looking at their hands laced together. “And then what happened?” He asked her, genuinely curious. Everything about her was so intoxicating. He let go her her hand. She stopped her story and looked at him, confused. He smiled stupidly and held her hand again, tighter. “I’m never gonna let go.” he announced, smiling even bigger than he was before. “You’re such a dork.” She said, smiling back. “I love you.” He said for the fifth time that day. The more he said it, the happier he became. “I love me too.” She said, grinning mischievously. “How much do you love me? Don’t you love me at all?” He asked, dumbfounded. He knew exactly what she was doing, yet he fell for it every time. ”That depends. How much do you love me?” She asked. Even though she was smiling, he knew. He saw the uneasiness behind her smile.

He knew that she wasn’t healed completely from the hurt he gave her. It would take a while to get the trust that he had back, and he was okay with that. “A year later, ten years later, I don’t care. You’re the only love for me. You were the only for me. I’ll say it a hundred times, a thousand times if you need. I’ll never leave you. I promise. I need you. I always will.” He assured. Her smile became more genuine as she squeezed his hand. “Well in that case, I love you more.” She said before pecking him on the cheek.

Anonymous Asked: I almost cried reading your new post ; ^; you should make a continuation!!

I was actually planning on it. (: The Dongwoo series is also going to be going on, so in a perfect world, I’d do the continuation before school ends, and then continue the Dongwoo series over the summer when I’ll be bored to death. haha

“I’m sorry.” He was telling the truth. Sorry was the only thing he could say. There was nothing else he could say, nothing else he wanted to say, that could change the past. Her eyes that used to radiate happiness and love just for him was now two orbs or emptiness. She didn’t seem to be with you. She was in a distant world. She had been for a while. Kisses turned more bitter, shorter, until they stopped altogether. All he wanted was someone that would love him. Somebody that would tell him that he was loved. He grew to love the girl he met. Or so he thought. Why did his heart hurt so much from looking at her so empty?

All she saw, on the other hand, was nothing but a shell of a man she used to love so much. A fake. A mask. She knew that the sorry didn’t mean anything. It was just something he told you to make himself feel better, not for you.”I know.” She said quietly, trying to find something in his eyes other than guilt. At least a hint of love. Of anything that used to be. The way he used to look at her was pure love, but it slowly went away, until she realized that he only had eyes for another girl. You weren’t in his heart anymore. You were just the past, and he had a present to go to. A present that you weren’t a part of. A heavy silence dropped over their heads. “Do you regret it? At all?” She asked, trying to hold back the tears. She refused to show him her weak side. She would be strong, calm, and collected, until the second he left the house.

“I can’t say that it’s not true.” He said slowly, looking into her eyes. He finally saw emotion in her eyes. Hurt. Pain. It pained him as much as it hurt her to see that he was the person that made her like this. He never meant to do this. He wasn’t even sure he meant this. He didn’t have control over his words anymore. Both of them were much too high on emotions. The conversation was so quiet, and so minimal, yet the words rang loudly, syllable by syllable, and hung over the air heavily. He wished he would take it back, yet he loved the feeling of being loved. Of being wanted. The guilt came soon afterwards, but it was already over. He grew to become addicted, quickly and painfully.

“Do you love her?” She asked. She pleaded to him silently, yet so loudly. Don’t leave me. Tell me she meant nothing. Tell me you love me. It wasn’t too late. All she was waiting for were the three stupid words that she hasn’t heard in so long. ”I can’t say I don’t love her anymore. It’d be a lie to say I don’t love her back.” He whispered. He loved her, but he wanted to be loved. Were they ever meant to be? He would never find out. It’s too late to fix anything anyways.

“Was I ever anything? Did I ever mean anything to you? Is there no more space for me in your heart? Answer me. Answer me, bastard!” She screamed, pounding at his chest. He pulled her gently into his chest, letting her pound on his chest more. He deserved the pain. He felt the pain. Each hit felt like she was hitting his heart, making the hole in heart where she belonged bigger and bigger. He wanted to tell her he was sorry; that he loved her. But he couldn’t. He didn’t deserve to. All he could do was the the pain he deserve so much.

She had no more strength left anymore. To be sad, to be hurt. To be able to feel. She stood in his arms. She inhaled, trying to remember the last moments that she had with him. To cherish them, since she knew that she would never get them again anyways. She smiled softly, smelling the familiar scent of the cologne that she got him for their anniversary. “Do you remember?” She said quietly. “What should I remember?” He asked her, even though he knew perfectly well what she was talking about. How could he ever forget that night? It was the night that he said he’d never leave you. He really thought that he was telling the truth. He really thought he would never leave you. But he was so wrong. “You told me you would love me forever. That we’d never separate. I was in your arms. Just like today.” She said it like she was just telling a story of something vaguely interesting that happened to her. Her indifferent words hurt him than anything could ever hurt him. “I do. I always will.” He said quickly. He would. He could never stop loving her. But things had changed. It’s just.. Things weren’t the same. Their stares were blank. They both knew what was coming up, yet they both didn’t want to give in.

“Can we.. be friends?” He asked her hopefully, yet they both knew the answer to the question so well. “I don’t know you anymore. The person that I loved.. They’re not here anymore.” She said, backing away from him slowly. “Baby, don’t say that. I-” He was interrupted by her gentle yet firm hand pushing his arm away. “It hurts. Just to look at you. Just to be around you. Don’t make me regret the times I’ve had with you. I loved you, but now I can’t even recognize you anymore. Please.” She said, standing emotionless as he fell apart, walking out the door, hoping that she’d stop him. Why wasn’t he happy? He’d been planning this day for so long. He thought he’d feel like the load would be off of him. But it wasn’t. It felt like it was just added on. He felt.. Alone.

She watched him blankly as he walked out the door, as if nothing happened. There were still traces of happiness, of love, of life, all around their house. She saw the cologne bottle that she got him. Would he make promises that he made with her with the new girl? Holding the new girl in his arms, just like he had with her? She smiled bitterly just at the thought. She looked at the shoes that she got him for his birthday. She saw him holding hands with another girl, looking just as happy as he was when he was with her. When they were happy. When things were okay. The tears she held back streamed down, and onto the shoes. Would he hold the new girl like he held her? Would he kiss her the same way? Her heart felt like it was clenching. So much that she was dying, but the more it hurt, the more alive she felt. Was this what heartbreak felt like? It wasn’t anything like what people said; it hurt so much more. Her heart physically hurt. “It hurts.” She said, hoping somebody would hear her. Hoping anybody would hear her. Hoping he would hear, but all she got in response was the quiet house, filled with memories she could only reminisce about.

A/N: It’s been a while. I’ve missed you guys so much! School isn’t over yet, but I felt really bad about not posting that I left a little something for you guys.
